Mr. Davies served as Director of Research. The Task Force was appointed by the Canadian and British Columbia governments to investigate port efficiency and industrial relations issues related to the withdrawal of services by drayage drivers in the summer of 2005. Research undertaken for the Task Force included interviews with drayage firms, drivers, shippers, warehouse operators, port officials and terminal operators and analysis of problems related to the efficiency of trucking activity at the ports. The project also included a survey of Best Practices related to trucking operations at leading North American and offshore container ports.
